Dear Palm Beach County Dental Hygiene Association Members:
It is an honor and a privilege to be able to serve as your 2015-2016 component President for the Palm Beach County Dental Hygiene Association. We are quite fortunate to have a great combination of experienced mentors and committed new members within the board and delegates this year. It is my greatest wish to continue what my predecessors started and ensure that our component voice is heard so that our professional organization continues to thrive. We accomplish this by creating mentor ship programs that partner experienced members with our newest members.
As active participants of the Palm Beach County Dental Hygiene Association, we have the opportunity to be a part of something much bigger than ourselves- ADHA and FDHA. Together we are working hard to better our profession. ADHA core ideology is to lead the transformation of the dental hygiene practice to improve the public oral and overall health (ADHA). While adapting to and meeting the challenges of the ever changing healthcare landscape, we remain committed to our pledge to uphold the highest standards of professional competence and personal conduct in the interest of the dental hygiene profession and the public it serves (ADHA).
This vision of dental hygienists, integrated into the healthcare system, is paralleled with everything we do as oral health promotion and disease prevention experts. Whether working in a private practice model, public health facility, or pioneering programs pursuant to the access to care legislation, our grassroots members are extremely important in making things happen. We look forward to your joining us at meetings, gatherings, and social events in the years to come. On behalf of the board we ask that you please reach out and let us know how your professional organization can best serve you and strengthen our local component.
Michelle Ryan, CDA, CRDH, M. Ed
